Archaeological Principal Investigator

Sphere 3 Environmental, Inc. is currently seeking an Archaeological Principal Investigator for our Longview, Texas office. The PI will work primarily with energy sector projects. This position will be full-time with benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful applicant will perform and oversee Archaeological projects and fieldwork, prepare reports, prepare written technical and cost proposals, coordinate with clients and other Sphere 3 team members to achieve project objectives in an efficient and cost effective manner.

Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • • Possess a MA, MS, or PhD degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related field.
  • • 3+ years of experience with archaeological fieldwork and cultural resources permitting.
  • • Knowledgeable of state and federal cultural resources regulations for Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and other states to be specified.
  • • Have qualifications and ability to obtain permits at the Principal Investigator level for SHPO and National Forest in Texas.
  • • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • • Have experience with the Oil & Gas industry.
  • • Must be able to travel, work outside in extreme heat or cold weather conditions, and safely conduct the physical aspects of archaeological field surveys.
  • • Interact in a positive and professional manner with clients and other staff.

    Air Permit Analyst

    Sphere 3 Environmental, Inc. is currently seeking an Air Permit Analyst for our Longview, Texas office to provide regulatory compliance services for industries such as oil and gas, refining, surface coating, and others. This position will be full-time with benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful applicant must demonstrate experience with the position responsibilities or capacity to quickly comprehend and implement the Clean Air Act regulations and state air permitting requirements.

    Responsibilities:

  • • Evaluate and interpret regulatory requirements implemented by federal, state, or local environmental agencies.
  • • Determine applicability of air quality regulations, including NSPS, MACT, NESHAP, Emissions Inventory, NSR, PSD, and Title V.
  • • Prepare air permit applications where required by federal, state, or local environmental regulatory agencies for energy/industrial facilities.
  • • Participate in agency consultations, project meetings, and client communications
  • • Prepare reports for the Mandatory Reporting Rule for Greenhouse Gases
  • • Assist with the development of LDAR Monitoring Plans and schedules
  • • Set up projects in project management software and assist with the development of project management reporting, such as weekly progress reports
  • • Prepare technical project documents, including, but not limited to: word processing, Excel spreadsheets, and emission estimates using approved state and federal calculation methodologies
  • Required Qualifications:

  • • Must have at least a BS degree in Engineering, Environmental, Mathematics, or Natural Science field of study
  • • Recent graduate to five years of relevant experience
  • • Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
  • • Some local and out-of-state travel required
  • • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • • Must pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Desired Qualifications:

  • • Experience with Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico air quality regulations
  • • Experience with Air Dispersion Modeling
  • • Familiar with oil & gas operations

    Environmental Scientist

    This is an entry-level Environmental Scientist position. This full-time staff position will be responsible for conducting a variety of environmental surveys, reporting, and permitting.

    Responsibilities

    • Will need to comprehend and apply various environmental regulations to assist clients with compliance.
    • Most work will involve environmental field assessments, audits, soil/water sampling, and permitting for the oil/gas industry.
    • Conduct GPS field data collection and assist with other projects as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in a science-related field of study.
    • Experience/training GIS or GPS is a plus.
    • Ability to work in the field and office environment.

    GPS/GIS OPERATOR

    Sphere 3 Environmental, Inc. currently has an open position for a GPS/GIS Operator in its Longview, Texas office. This position will be full-time with benefits.

    The successful applicant will conduct field data collection and GIS mapping for a variety of environmental projects including property assessments, wetland surveys, archaeology surveys, and oil/gas facility assessments/inventories.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct GPS field data collection and assist with other projects as needed.
    • Download, correct, and export GPS data.
    • Utilize ArcMap 10.x. to manage data and prepare project maps.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Geography or science-related field of study.
    • Experience/training with ESRI’s ArcMap software.
    • Ability to work in the field and office environment.
    • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be able to travel, work outside in extreme heat or cold weather conditions, and safely conduct the physical aspects of field GPS data collection.
